Kentucky Hunting Guides

Professional Hunting Guide

Is it important to have a Kentucky hunting guide? Absolutely. Is it better to have a hunting guide? Absolutely. Again, assuming your goal is to have the best chances possible to kill a Kentucky trophy buck. If you have the money to do so, why wouldn’t you experience everything you possible can? Now there are points of view on both sides. Some people have experienced a little better quality of a hunt, but maybe they like to do things themselves? Maybe they prefer not to be around other people? Maybe they want the hunt to be more challenging and totally up to them? I don’t know.   Personally, if you have the money, why would you mow your own lawn or paint your own home? If I had the extra money, why would I want to gut out a deer? There is nothing enjoyable about it.

Kentucky Deer Hunting

Professional hunters (Ph’s) are super valuable. They offer probably more know-how than most hunters, but at the very least, they are good company to bounce ideas off of.    There is a sense of safety and security when hunting with an outfitter that provides a guide service. If you have a representative on the property, it’s not just a outfitter or landowner who has taken your money and left you to fend for yourself. They have met you face to face and are helping give you the best chances of a successful Kentucky deer hunt.   For a lot of people, hunting trips are expensive vacations. I don’t know about you, but when I’m on vacation, I want to be pampered as far as my dollar will allow me to be. As the writer for this website,  There are all sort of reasons for going on a do-it-yourself (diy) hunting trip.

DIY Hunts

There are many different levels of DIY hunts that I’m not going to get into now. Some have the property managed as good and even better than full-time full-guide service Kentucky outfitters, others just happen to inherit some wooded land next to their farm and tell you they see all kinds of deer. With the advent of the internet, it’s quite easy to locate and talk to different landowners to find out what type of hunt is right for you and your pocket book.    There is no “WRONG OR WRIGHT” answer on whether or not you should hire a guide. It’s a personal preference and budget sort of question only you can answer. Keep in mind, you are spending a lot of time and money on this trip, so in my opinion, having a professional hunting guide at least on site is an added insurance policy and will likely add to the success of your hunt. With that said, you should still come and hunt at my well-groomed do-it-yourself hunting grounds!
